Welcome to the Pala Raceway Report. We will try and keep you informed of the construction process of the Pala Raceway with regular updates. Also check back for updates on www.palaraceway.com on a regular basis.

The big question is when are we going to be open? Pala Raceway has been in the development and planning stages for over five years. As of January 31st construction has begun on site, the early estimates and without any unexpected delays the first phase of construction should be finished early this summer, hopefully allowing us to be open by July of this year. As we get further into construction, the time line could change, but we will let you know when the grand opening is scheduled.

Construction Update 2/4/2008:

Construction was started on January 31st. The first part of any earth moving process is to place all of the grade stakes and proper elevations that are essential during grading. The second major step is to secure the perimeters and to make sure all of the storm water run off protection is in place, which includes silt fencing and straw waddles to prevent mud from running off of the construction site.

The mass grading contractor is on site and the heavy equipment is being transported to the site while the storm water protection is being installed and it has to be in place before they commence grading. The estimated time line for the mass grading, screening, drainage control, and trenching is 120 days.

While the mass grading is going on the site is a closed site and no one besides authorized personal will be allowed on site due to the dangerous nature of the construction site. Please do not try and come out to the site, security will not let you through the front gate unless you are chaperoned by a member of the Pala Raceway Staff. Once the mass grading is done and the track building crews are on site we will begin offering site tours. We will be installing a web cam as soon as electricity is readily available on the site so you can view what is happening on the site. We will let you know when it goes live so you can keep updated on our progress.

Election Day Provides a Chance to Say Thanks

You can help out the Pala Band of Mission Indians that has supported the motocross community by permitting the development of the Pala Raceway on their land by voting "NO" on the Unfair Gambling Deals, Propositions 94, 95, 96 and 97 on Election Day.

Pala has been a leader in the fight against these deals which would concentrate a third of all Indian gaming revenue in California in the hands of just four tribes. That's four out of 108 tribes in the state. With the 17,000 new slot machines the deals would allow will create Giant Mega Casinos that will consolidate the market and would not benefit the majority of Californian Indian Tribes.

Props 94-97 are a bad deal for California taxpayers, workers and other tribes. Voting NO will send the parties involved back to the negotiating table and will be supporting the position of our Pala partners.

Pala Raceway will require an annual Stock Membership priced at $15 dollars to practice and to race at Pala Raceway Promoted events. Included in the membership will be a Free Pala Raceway T-Shirt, a Free Ride Day on your Birthday, a Pala Raceway photo ID card, discounts at Pala Raceway Spectator Events, and other benefits that will be added once Pala Raceway is open. You are NOT under any obligation to purchase a membership by filling out the membership forms on line or at your local Southern California motorcycle dealer. We will NOT be collecting any membership fees until you visit Pala Raceway for the first day. By filling out the membership forms you will be able to skip over filling out the forms on your first visit and be able to go right to the photo line for your photo ID card and get your Free T-Shirt.

The Pala Raceway Factory Membership is in the planning process and eventually will be offered to allow for a monthly or yearly fee to be able to ride every day of the week without paying for individual ride days, it will be set up similar to a monthly fitness center membership. This will be an ideal package for guys that ride several times per month.
